Alan Bright has made swift progress since being a volunteer with AAAHA in April 2022. Beginning as a runner, he quickly assumed a leading role in developing the Young Film Network. He acquired important technical and programming skills for this whilst organising Thurrock Film Club. In conjunction with upskilling himself, he has taken over marketing Film Thurrock on all social media outlets. A recent graduate of South Essex College, he impressively transferred his skills and knowledge in business, marketing, and teaching into a wide range of outcomes for Film Thurrock. He prides himself on his ability to adapt to change and, being a perfectionist at heart, pushes himself to the very limit to ensure successful results. He is a founding member of Film Thurrock.

  • Executive Producer of Thurrock International Film Festival

Jun Noh is a London-based filmmaker, writer, and producer with a background in acting and storytelling. A graduate of London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), he works across theatre, film, and audio, with a focus on amplifying underrepresented narratives. He co-founded Kobold Blue Productions, creating multidisciplinary works that spotlight marginalised voices and confront urgent social issues. His play Things Between Heaven and Earth was staged at major UK festivals and later adapted into a short film. Jun also serves as executive producer on An Important Man with Flying Colours Productions. His work often explores identity, displacement, and psychological depth through a visually striking and emotionally layered style. He is passionate about independent cinema and committed to creating bold, resonant stories that spark dialogue and change.

  • Production Consultant

Steve is a highly skilled documentary and factual entertainment offline editor with a vast amount of producing experience. He has many credits to his name for cable and terrestrial channels, and his work for Channel 5 has ensured he is now a firm favourite amongst their producers. Editing on Avid Media Composer since 1994, Steve has a strong musical background providing him with a trained ear and eye for stylistic presentation. Specialised in rapidly finding a witty story or an unexpected angle and crafting high-ratio broadcast observational documentaries with a socio-political funky edge, he has the skills, creativity and wisdom every edit needs. Besides editing, Steve has also been producing, directing and shooting corporate, music and documentary films. His specialty is a strong sense of documentary narrative with an innate sense of rhythm and choreographic imagery. BATA

The Bata Heritage Centre
Located in East Tilbury, Essex, the Bata Heritage Centre is based on the historic site of the British Bata Shoe Company Ltd. The area’s rich industrial and architectural legacy is closely tied to the lives of its workers—reflected in the modernist homes built by the company, many of which are still inhabited today.

Film & Archive Collaboration
In 2021, as we emerged from the Covid lockdown, we hosted our first outdoor screening at Grays Town Park. Working with the East Anglian Film Archive, we discovered rare 1950s–60s silent films shot by Sir John Tusa at the Bata site.

With permission to re-edit the material, we created new soundtracks and recorded local historian Mike Ostler, who shared vivid accounts of the Bata community and its heritage.

These short films were presented by Mike Ostler and screened at the Thurrock Film Festival 2021.
