Our Festival sits in a relaxed cinema cafe that spills out casually into Grays Town Park – quiet, unassuming surroundings, lounging in the unpretentious heart of Thurrock.
Discover unexpected films from round the world and stunning home grown gems. In the line up are productions from our ambitious Young Film Network, a group we are pretty proud to be nurturing.
This is not stuff you get on giant streaming platforms. Are you brave enough to give it a try? Something that bit more special in a friendly atmosphere that is wacky and heart-warming. Why not just drop by for a really unique experience?

A young Berlin musician receives news that his estranged mother is dying. Once released into his care, they both discover that dying can be beautiful.
Death and dying are perpetually sensationalized or trivialized in film and media worldwide. This film disrupts that notion by presenting how the experience of a loved one who is dying can be sorrowful but also beautiful.

MEMORY (2024)
An experimental documentary reimagining the childhood recollections of a Jersey inhabitant, Margaret, through the intimate lens of the director’s British South Asian background by channelling his own family’s generational diasporic experience and sisterhood. The cast is comprised of the director’s own family reconstructing Margaret’s memories on 16mm Kodak film.
FADING SOOTSTEPS
This documentary delves into the lives of Palsi shepherds in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. As younger generations diverge from shepherding to pursue alternative careers, a wealth of knowledge about the local ecosystem, including insights into native flora, fauna, and traditional customs, is at risk of disappearing. The film poignantly highlights the profound understanding these shepherds possess regarding their environment and the significant challenges they encounter in contemporary times,

When a young man of 18 sees a vision of his 11 year old self at a party, he is sent on a hazy and emotional journey through his past to finally accept who he used to be.
THE ASYLUM SEEKERS
An inflatable boat unloads a group of Asylum Seekers on the shores of Euroville, a city representing the European project. The group stumbles on the corpse at the house where they take up lodgings. They decide that they have to go to the authorities to see how to dispose of the corpse. The group goes from office to office without managing to resolve their issue until they decide to burn the corpse outside their house. The Military Police is now on to them as they slowly make their escape…

Jane and her 18-year-old son Jamie have grown apart since the death of her husband, Jamie’s father. Having tried many routes to happiness, Jane has decided to take them both to a retreat run by her favourite health influencer. Once at the retreat, truths are revealed that start to make it clear that the help they need is not here.

Alan Bidard is an award-winning animation film director from the French island of Martinique in the Caribbean. During the two last decades, he has produced and directed animated features and short films, animated series, documentaries and live-action films which won more than 200 awards and 400 nominations in festivals worldwide.

1.30pm Sonic the Hedgehog
The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski. Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik from capturing Sonic.
It set the record for the biggest opening weekend for a video game film in the United States and Canada. Starring James Marsden and Jim Carrey.
